On one of my main pages, Beautiful Souls, I write about the importance of acknowledging each other and provide a few ways how to acknowledge (blogging/writing) our neighbors. However, it is equally important to acknowledge yourself. As a multi-disciplinary guidance practitioner, I guide neighbors on a global scale and have them reflect themselves by asking questions regarding various areas of their life. In addition, I ask questions to help figure out, if a person is acknowledging him/herself enough.
Being authentic comes not naturally for all of us and one of the reasons is due to passed-on belief-systems. Society has a big influence and choosing your own values and beliefs, stand up for your own truth can be difficult. In addition, lots of our neighbors tend to believe it is egotistical to take good care of yourself, put your own needs before the needs of others.
Throughout the years, I learned it is one of the most important tasks to do, being kind towards myself and thus taking good care of myself. When I am not feeling well, mentally or physically, I can’t give my best to my neighbors. Let alone, the ones in need.
At the same time, I also believe it is not wrong at all to use another goal to improve your own well-being. Especially if you happen to be in a dark place and you can’t seem to find your way back to the light. Taking care of a pet, volunteer at a cause to help other Beautiful Souls, water the plants for your neighbors during their holiday are examples of activities that could help feel better about yourself.
Become better
Be aware: feeling better is an understandable goal, but emotions fluctuate. Striving to be (-come) better will lead to feeling better long-lasting.
You don’t like your past, or the old you?
The best revenge is to start taking care of yourself
and acknowledge the Beautiful Soul you are.
You don’t like yourself now?
You could start acknowledging yourself
by taking care of yourself anyway.
Do you acknowledge you are a Beautiful Soul?
Whether you are in a dark place, or in a joyful place, regardless your situation and environment, we are never done learning, improving and better ourselves. At the same time, no matter what,
we are all born Beautiful Souls!
Start at least with acknowledging this 😉

Thank you so much for this post! I’ve been fighting a fearful depression for a few days now. Your article reminded me that I need to change my direction and thoughts. I have many ways I take care of myself, but it’s amazing how you just don’t feel like it or don’t realize you’re not…until you wake up one day and can’t seem to function.
It’s an everyday thing. I need to make myself get up and do Something….even if it’s taking a walk.
I can’t afford or allow myself to stay inactive and give up on the things that bring me joy……and I thank you for shining a light….and waking me up. I’ve come too far to get my life back to simply let it slip into the dark.
Keep up the great work and God bless you!??
Andrea.
Or even if it’s just writing a comment and make someones heart jump from the joy she feels reading that comment. Like your comment did my heart jump from joy. Dear Andrea, those few minutes it took to connect with me, were already a few more minutes your spend in ‘light’. So grateful you spend those precious minutes reading my post and connecting. Your heartwarming words letting me know my words make an impact, thank YOU !
You DO matter! Maybe you’re not confident right now you fully believe it yourself, but let me reassure you: you DO matter to me. Sending you a big hug! XxX
