In the hope to inspire you to reflect on your connections, with yourself, with your beloved ones, with our planet, I’m publishing weekly a post regarding the topic Connection. The last post in this series will be on July 01. By that time I hope I’ve strengthened some of my connections and maybe even gained some. I wish that for you too.
How connected are you?
During the holiday season, in case of a birthday or other larger event, you might be planning to gather with family and/or friends. I think it’s common to review your connections, before deciding if and with whom you want to spend quality time. Let’s reflect the reason why you connect: obligation or love?
“Without genuine interest in each other,
acknowledging, accepting and thus loving one and another,
connection will be meaningless”.
Other connections
Connection is not only about the relationships you’ve built. Regularly, I reflect also on other matters I’m connected to. Besides the bonds with others, I contemplate about the connection with my personal health, environment, possessions and about the world we all live upon.
Do you eat healthy? Sleep enough? Spend time outdoors regularly? Do you have everything you need, or do you need to declutter? Could you contribute to our world by, per example, volunteering or using less plastic?

Root cause
Above, a few questions you could ask yourself to find out, what at root is the cause of being disconnected. Since, connection is also about reflecting upon disconnections. What the reason is behind that and if YOU want to change or improve them. Feeling obligated, the expectations of others, are no good reasons to stay connected. As mentioned in week 3, I personally believe, it is wise to choose quality above quantity.
As you know, I love to connect. Tell me, are you disconnected in some way?
