After you’ve written down your premises, visions and purposes regarding your health and fitness it is time to start designing your strategies…
Disclaimer
Before I’m going to take you through the process of designing visions for YOUR life, be aware of the following:
- You are and will always be responsible for your own life and for the choices you make.
- When done seriously, totally honest with yourself, some (or all) parts of the process can be tough.
- Your vision(s) don’t have to be perfect, the perfect way does not exist.
- Examples given are my personal perspectives. What good is for me, isn’t automatically good for you too.
The Process
For this process, you will need a pen and paper or (digital) notebook. Personally, I wrote everything down by hand and at the end, I assembled a personal binder. There is, just as in writing down your visions, no right or wrong. Use what makes sense to you ; -)
I’ve chosen to share small steps for each life-area. It will give you time to reflect deeply on each section. Also, the posts will not be too long to read through.
Design the vision for YOUR life (part three)
In part one, we reflected upon our premises regarding health and fitness. To be able to write your health and fitness vision for yourself, you need to know what you believe about these topics.
In part two, we’ve written down our visions and purposes. What is our ideal outcome and for what reason do we want to achieve a certain level of health and fitness.
Grab a pen plus notebook, a tablet or a laptop and let’s design the vision for YOUR life. If you’re serious about it, you’ll have a pillar you can always lean on. And the best part; it’s yours and yours alone…
Whether you’re in your twenties, forties, or have ten more years to go here on this beautiful planet, designing your visions for life is always helpful. Ready?! Let’s start with part three of this series, I am sharing to inspire you to step up and find (more) clarity and hopefully start living a more meaningful life on YOUR terms.
Strategies for your health and fitness (3/3)
Strategies
The best ways to enable yourself reaching the goals you set for yourself, is to gain clarity on your premises, visions and purposes on all areas of your life. Especially purpose, the reason(s) you want to live a certain way, will be a great reminder during those days it is harder to stick to your own strategy.
In addition, being realistic (without limiting yourself due untrue beliefs) about what you will be able to achieve is also a key factor to set the right strategies.
Last, research information, options, tools and everything you need to know about the life area you want to improve. What do you need to know and what do you need to do in order to achieve the goals you’ve set for yourself?
Per example, in case of health and fitness, when you want to live a vegetarian lifestyle… What kinds of foods does a vegetarian consume, where can you buy them, does this lifestyle fit other visions regarding your life in general.
Improving health and fitness, doesn’t only involve a healthy diet. It also requires the right amount of sleep and exercising regularly. Do you need to adjust your habits, daily routines, etc. etc.
Your Strategy
Once you have all the information you need, all that knowledge that makes sense to YOU, you can start making plans to achieve your goals. Don’t overwhelm yourself, start with tiny steps.
Per example; want to reduce sugar intake? A good idea is to take one teaspoon less in your coffee or tea during a week. As soon as you’re used to the new taste, reduce again a bit until you drink your beverage without sugar.
Did you write down a vision that will take up five years to achieve? Figure out what you need to do per year, per month, per week or even per day to get there. It is called chunking down.
Remember; the moment you notice straying away from your own vision of life, you have your personal vision of life book to re-inspire yourself. Read it on a regular base and adjust if necessary.
The next part in this series will be about other life areas. Until then, remember, the perfect way does not exist!
Personal
Remember, designing the vision for your life is very personal. Of course, you are welcome to share your thoughts in the comments below, or ask questions. Good luck!
