My favorite song played at Davids radio-show

Since recently I started to listen to Davids radio-show every weekend. This week he added to his Hall of Fame one of my all-time favorite singers:  Barbra Streisand. Would you like to have your favorite singer/band added too? Hop over to his site , not only to for that, but also to listen to his interesting perspectives on various topics and his excellent choices of records.

My all-time favorite song is without a doubt, Somewhere by Barbra Streisand. At David’s show it’s starts about 1:34 :00, followed by People and Memory. Listen to it and/or read the lyrics below; you probably understand why and get to know me a bit better 😉

Somewhere ~ Barbra Streisand

Someday
Somewhere
We’ll find a new way of living,
We’ll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere

There’s a place for us
Somewhere a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us somewhere

There’s a time for us
Someday a time for us
Time together with time to spare
Time to learn
Time to care

Someday
Somewhere
We’ll find a new way of living
We’ll find there’s a way of forgiving
Somewhere
Somewhere
Somewhere

There’s a place for us
A time and a place for us
Hold my hand and we’re half way there
Hold my hand and I’ll take you there
Somehow
Someday
Somewhere

People ~ Barbra Streisand

People
People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world,
We’re children, needing other children
And yet letting our grown-up pride
Hide all the need inside,
Acting more like children
Than children.
Lovers are very special people,
They’re the luckiest people
In the world.
With one person, one very special person
A feeling deep in your soul
Says you were half,
Now you’re whole.
No more hunger and thirst
But first be a person
Who needs people.
People who need people
Are the luckiest people
In the world!

With one person, one very special person
A feeling deep in your soul
Says you were half,
Now you’re whole.
No more hunger and thirst
But first be a person
Who needs people.

People who need people
Are the luckiest people
In the world!

Memory ~ Barbra Streisand

Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan

Memory
All alone in the moonlight
I can smile at the old days ( I can dream of the old days)
I was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again

Every street lamp seems to beat
A fatalistic warning
Someone mutters and the street lamp gutters
And soon it will be morning

Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustn’t give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin

Burnt out ends of smoky days
The still cold smell of morning
A street lamp dies, another night is over
Another day is dawning

Touch me,
It is so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun
If you touch me,
You’ll understand what happiness is

Inspire each other...
