Trust is a Core Key. To build a solid foundation for life in general, meaningful relationships and most of all to enable yourself to be you. Without trusting your own knowledge, values, principles often result in feeling overwhelmed, anxious and questioning yourself all the time. It will keep you from living to your full potential. This level of lack of trust might even lead to depression, or even worse.
Core and main values
As human beings, we developed a conscious; we are the only species on this earth who know they know. I believe, we are not only all born with this consciousness, but also with a core value Integrity. Growing up, we will be taught other values and at some point in our life, we decide which main values are most important to us on an individual level.
We all go through the same emotions
We all experience moments throughout life feeling misunderstood, unworthy, second guessing ourselves constantly. Maybe you wanted to be a soccer player, a ballerina, a pilot, a psychologist. You did your best at school, pleasing your parents in an attempt to be acknowledged for who you are. Overwhelmed at times by the burden of adult problems laid upon your shoulders, being told you have to take responsibility for your family, be loyal and love always seems to be accompanied by conditions.
As soon as you started to create opinions of your own, composed your own principles, fought for the right to express yourself and tried to become who you needed to be, family and friends succeeded in convincing you, your new-found paths are the wrong paths to take. They might even have distorted the truth, beneficiary to their own needs.
Love without Trust worthless
Life can be harsh, we can’t always control everything around us. In addition, people you love and trust, claiming they love you too, can make you feel confused. Desperate to a point you just want to disappear. Sequentially, you start building walls, distance yourself from the world you live in and even forget about your own truth. The connection to Trust seems to be gone.
There comes a time you have to let go…
It IS tempting to forever hold a grudge and blame the persons who’ve hurt you, who deprived your innocence physically or mentally. It’s human nature to seek for someone, or something, to blame, instinctively trying to protect yourself. Even if you have every right to blame your caretakers, parents or anyone else who has harmed your trust. Even when roadblocks kept thrown at you in your attempt to be you.
Connection to Trust
The term ‘ego’ is often negatively associated. However, sometimes it is perfectly fine to disconnect from your environment for a short while and put yourself first. Accept we can’t control all, explore our positives and limitations. To take a step back and a good look at yourself, at the people in your life, at your choices.
It isn’t easy and it takes courage to start listening to your own voice and no, don’t just dismiss what your loved ones are saying immediately. However, you know your own truth. What is good for you, what is not. You know deep within, in your core, if advice is suitable for you, if it leads you in a better direction, on your unique journey. Start trusting yourself to build a solid foundation, leaning on our core value Integrity. Connect to Life, to Others, to Yourself.
