Shock, nervous, fearful, outraged and sad. A roller coast of emotions the last couple of days. It’s nothing compared to the emotions of our neighbors in Ukraine. Not only this country, my, our, continent is at war. Let this be very clear…
Freedom under attack
Despite a statement in a previous post not wanting to write a thought provoking article and publish my ‘piece of mind’, how can I not say something? From personal experiences, I know the impact of manipulation, denial of my right to be me, choose whom I include in my life and how I would like to live my life. These days, I sense when freedom is under attack.
There has been said a lot about this war on the continent I too live upon. Two statements I want to share, since they are very true according to me:
“Je mag van alles vinden van andere landen, maar je valt ze niet binnen.”
“You can find/think all kinds of things from/about other countries, but you can’t invade them.”
~ Mark Rutte (Premier of The Netherlands)
“This is not just Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This is the beginning of a war against Europe, against European structures, against democracy, against basic human rights, against a global order of law, rules and peaceful coexistence.”
~ Volodymyr Zelensky (President of Ukraine)
Boundaries
Life is not infinite and I don’t know what tomorrow brings. I do know boundaries have been crossed, literally, metaphorically. We have been thrown back into history by the actions of one man and his inner circle. At the moment I am indecisive on how to proceed, here @ my virtual home. Every post I have in mind feels futile.
Let this be very clear. Our freedom is under attack, our world will change, has already changed.

The world wil not be the same anymore. Indeed: it has changed, it IS changing and we are the audience…
Are we? We can do so much, dear Anuscka. Be the example ; -) XxX
This is one of those moments, Patty when it is about the greater good. The gate to all Europe needs to be protected.
Your efforts are not futile, because you bring peace of mind to people who share your blog and interact with you. We need resilience to move forward, to get over the hurdles, and make a difference. You show us how to do that.
As I was catching up with various reports around the world last night, even the majority of his allies have said he has made a key mistake with Ukraine and do not support his actions. China in particular has said he needs to find a diplomatic solution.
Somehow, despite my own feelings, I know that we have to show him how to get out of the corner he has painted himself into (and he has, because his blitzkrieg has not gone the way he wanted).
The sun will come up tomorrow, and we need to be there for that!
Yes, it is heartwarming to see how the world is gathering together and shows its strength in what ‘we’ do not want. And I agree, we have to seek understanding for where he is coming from. Denial of someone’s feelings is never a good idea.
Your continuous support and encouragement is highly appreciated.
Let’s be the example and keep creating peace in our own small worlds. I still believe in the silo-effect ; -)
Indeed Patty, the world has changed… and some people in it unfortunatly.
All we can do and keep on doing, is sending light and love… over and over again… an hope/pray for the best xx
The news about this war fills me with sadness… How is this possible in this age? How can one man (again) bring forth so much pain and desperation and despair and destruction? And not be stopped immediately? I just… I have no words for what is happening right now. Just wish, pray and hope that tomorrow will be better.
