Besides surviving and evolving, Connecting is our other main activity and goal in life. Deepening our Connections throughout life, an ongoing process, we are therefore students of Connection forever. In this second Connection Letter, I would like to share one of my favorite reflection tools…
Everything is Connected. Everything.
No matter our background, upbringing, current situation, gender, age or belief-system…we are all human beings. Our common main and natural purpose is to survive. Connecting to gain our basic needs will help us realize that purpose. We are capable of surviving on our own, however to evolve and thrive as human beings, we need Connection. Therefore, I believe Connecting is, besides surviving plus evolving, our most important activity and goal.
Body, mind, soul. Past, present, future. Fauna, flora, fungi. Air, water, fire, earth. Sky, planets, stars. As human beings we are part of those, exist because of them and are Connected to all of the above and more.
There are thus all kinds of Connections possible. So are various tools to create Connection. Language (sounds/words, body, energetic, spiritual), and equipment (phone, computer, hearing aid, etc.) are examples of the tools we nowadays have at our disposal.
When trying to understand life, others and yourself and striving for more meaningful Connections the tools and methods at hand to do so, are endless.
Life, Soul, Core
In the first Connection letter, I did explain more about Connection to Life, Others, Yourself. In other words: Lifeconnection, Soulconnection, Coreconnection. You can find various articles related to Connection @ my virtual home. In this second Connection Letter I would like to dive into one of my favorite reflection tools further.
The three main areas of Connection can be divided in sub-areas:
Connections suitable to your uniqueness
I do, however, not believe in ‘one approach fits all’. Hence, I believe the method of reflecting on above mentioned topics to be a great tool, because you can decide yourself what is suitable to you, as the unique human being you are.
Depending on the circumstances you are in, the needs you have, the skills you developed, etc., you will have to work yourself on the areas of your life that could be improved, deepened.
Every day you can choose to reflect on your Connections; the various areas of your life. Ask yourself what goes well, what does not You and you alone can make the decision if you are comfortable with how things are, or if change is necessary.
Every day you can choose to reset, create new Connections, and/or to deepen your existing Connections. Maybe you even discover that dis-Connection is a choice needed to be made.
It is up to you, and you alone, if you choose to do so.
Meaningful Connections
Regardless of whether we want to evolve and thrive on an individual or collective level; reflecting is a valuable tool. Reflecting upon the root cause of existing emotions, thoughts, beliefs and behaviors will uncover the reasons of disconnections. The right questions will lead to the root cause of insecurities, doubts or low self-esteem. The right tools will reveal unique main values, enabling to make choices with confidence.
Some of my favorite questions, enabling you to deepen your Connections:
- How do you know it is true?
- Are you in love with the moments that you’re living?
- What are you willing to do, or not do?
Consider diving in even deeper, ask after you’ve given yourself an answer: Why?
Reflecting regularly upon the quality of (y)our Connections – Life Connections, Soul Connections, Core Connections – will not only help us to survive and evolve even further. It will result in meaningful Connections and thus, our ultimate goal, a meaningful life. For you, for me, for us all.
Stay Connected ; -)
Surviving, evolving, Connecting together: Meaningful, human, real.
Warm regards,
Patty Wolters
