Today, it is time for another ‘Hello Neighbor’ blogpost and I noticed earlier this week the WordPress daily prompt asking: “Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?”. While I have various mantras that inspire, I’ve chosen one I deeply believe to be true.
Hi Neighbor!
You already read it in the title. A phrase I live by, and a truth I return to daily: Everything is Connected. Everything!
When you think of the areas in life, of values, of beliefs, whether your own or those of others, they are all connected. The past, the present, the future; connected. Events occurring around the world, the change of the climate, economics, politics, …; connected.
At the moment, there are severe bush fires happening in The Netherlands. This morning, while waiting for the water to heat to clean our dog’s dinner bowl, I noticed how much water was going down the drain. Water that now is desperately needed to put out those fires.
Everything is Connected. Everything!
I have now added a new item to my to-do list: keep a watering can by the sink. Instead of letting the water go to waste, I can use it to water the vegetable garden. The plants will be happy, as it hasn’t rained in days. The dog will still be able to eat out of a clean bowl. And I will feel much better, implementing this small, connected habit.
Share your insights, inspire each other:
I invite you to visit other global neighbors and read their answers to the daily prompt here:

Looking forward to Connect!
Warm regards,
Patty

My ‘life’-quote: Don’t explain your philosophy. Embody it! – by Epictetus. Maybe a more modern version: Walk your talk 🙂
I like to do both ; -) Writing about it, to inspire others to walk their talk.
Agree! So do i 😉
Great : -) Thanks for the ongoing support, dear Anuk!
Hello Patty. I thought you might appreciate our latest waterwise campaign: https://www.watercorporation.com.au/waterwise. The TV adverts around the bucket campaign are very good.
As for a quote, probably my dad: “work hard and then put your feet up.” As he explained: everyone wanted to be on his team as they seemed to be relaxing and having a nice time. But the reality was he had the best working for him because when things hit the wall, regardless of the time day or night, he expected everyone on deck until the issue was resolved.
Thank you for sharing that link, dear Sean. We have such programs here too.
Fair leaders, who understand the importance of enough rest and creating a relaxed work-sphere are the best.
