Dear Beautiful Soul,
I am writing this to you because I know how heavy it can feel when you are carrying a loss that the world around you doesn’t see or understand.
Grief is not always about the death of a loved one. It can be the heartbreak of a lost job, the closing of a chapter, a forced change in your living situation, or losing a cherished item. Sometimes, it is the grief of a decision you were forced to make because of circumstances entirely out of your control.
Whether your loss is sudden, unexpected, or the result of a hard choice you didn’t want to make, please know this:
We all go through moments in time, when we feel alone in our sorrow.
It can become exhausting to put on a brave face, while hurting. It is lonely to feel like you have to keep your struggles hidden because society expects you to just move on. But your emotions are valid, regardless of their origin, and you do not have to justify it to anyone
In case you stumble on this blogpost today, and your loss feels particularly heavy, remember that The Lantern is here for you:
It is a space to leave your story, to share what you want someone to know. Whether it is about the pain you feel or just want to tell someone what you can no longer say to your lost special one. It is simply a place for your truth to be held in complete confidence.
Know that you are NOT alone.
Warmly,
Patty
