Never saw the movie, familiar with the original and only just last year this song touched me, somewhere deep inside. Music is timeless, the opportunity to grow on a personal level ageless…
Music and personal growth
A few years back, I was one of many who had never heard of Floor Jansen and Nightwish. If I had, I probably would be touring the world right now, being a member of a symphonic rock band. Anyways, Floor did upload a few covers last year, among them ‘Let it go’ from the Walt Disney movie ‘Frozen’.
Last week, I listened to this version again and touched me again, somewhere deep inside. Cold does bother me, however, the sentences “Turn away and slam the door, I don’t care what they’re going to say” plus “And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast I’m never going back, the past is in the past”… never felt as true to me, as these days. While music is timeless, the opportunity to grow is ageless.
You can always make new choices, or even start over completely.
Let it go
Listen to the song I added below, read the lyrics and Let’s Connect!
What do you need to let go? What fear is holding you back? Does this song evoke something inside? Can you resonate with the thought ‘the opportunity to grow is ageless’? Let me know in the comments below!

Let it go - Floor Jansen
Lyrics
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation
And it looks like I’m the queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn’t keep it in, heaven knows I’ve tried
Don’t let them in, don’t let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know
Well, now they know
Let it go, let it go
Can’t hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don’t care what they’re going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
And the fears that once controlled me can’t get to me at all
It’s time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I’m free
Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You’ll never see me cry
Here I stand and here I stay
Let the storm rage on
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back, the past is in the past
Let it go, let it go
When I’ll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway

Soul Connection
There are many ways to Boost Your Soul and music is a fantastic one. There are a variety of genres you can listen to, even Soul Music is a genre in itself. To me, music is also a way to Connect with your Soul. A tool to help you go through emotions and acknowledge them. Depending on your mood, there will be always a piece of art that goes along with it. What I love most about music is how it can Connect people.

I’d not heard Floor’s cover, so thanks for introducing me to it. For me, listening to music is a rather cyclical thing – sometimes I find I’m greatly immersed in it, and at others, I literally have to remind myself how much I enjoy it. But I totally agree with your points – music is a wonderful way to connect with both our souls and with others. With regard to the question of what I’m ready to let go of, it’s the sense that time is somehow a limitation – that there isn’t enough of it or I’m not using it optimally, and all the other stories.
Ah yes, dear Deborah, I can relate to those thoughts. Twenty-four hours in a day don’t seem enough, regularly, right?! It might be helpful to reflect each day ending and ask oneself: did I enjoy this day. If the answer is yes, the time was well spent ; -)
