The sentence ‘A life you did not ask for’ is a thought I can, unfortunately, relate to. We do not ask to be put on this ball called Earth and the rocks life throws on our paths; you probably did not ask for either. Read today’s Soul Support blogpost when you are lost, feel lonely…
Life is not a gift.
On this planet for five decades, it took me almost the same amount of time to truly start living my own truth. Contradictory to what I may have written, here at my virtual home, in the past, I am no longer convinced that life is a gift. That we should feel grateful to even be here.
We didn’t ask to be brought into this world and the idea that you should thank your caregivers for providing for you, hm. Whether they put you on Earth intentionally, or chose to take you into their home… It is a choice made for you.
Power of choice.
Until you’re eighteen years old, you will have to follow the rules in your environment. Parents, caregivers, teachers, sport coaches, religious leaders, lawmakers, etc.
Since we usually don’t get a say in those rules, life could start to feel as something you didn’t ask for. If, on top of that, you were raised in a physical and/or emotionally abusive household; no wonder the question arises “what is it all for?”.
These days, I sometimes still find myself slipping into my former mindset that I have no choice. And yes, there are things in life that we have no control over. So what power of choice do we have when feelings of senselessness and thoughts of not being worthy start to overwhelm us?
To take a very scary step.
Fortunately, I have been able to create a small circle of people who I believe to be trustworthy to share my deeper inner thoughts and emotions with. You might not be ready for a one-on-one conversation or even know someone you feel you can trust.
That is why I am creating an alternative to traditional coaching. You don’t have to feel alone in your struggles, and I do believe we all matter, regardless of your gender, skin color, age, background or current situation you find yourself in. We all deserve to be seen and validated for the unique beautiful soul we are. We all could use a safe space at times to share our shadows and darkness with.
Soul Support will open its doors on April 1st.
Until then, if you are navigating the darkness, please know that your feelings are valid and your story matters. You don’t have to have all the answers today.
I look forward to Connect with you soon.
With love,
Patty
