Last week, we looked at our Finance, the foundational resource of our freedom. But even a well-funded life requires a direction for our energy. In the Philosophy of Connection, Career is not a ladder to be climbed or a definition of your worth; it is the purposeful contribution of your unique self to the world…
The Purposeful Contribution:
For the Connection Creator, work is the bridge between our Internal Rhythm and the External World. To be Connected to your career means recognizing that your professional life is a foundation; a tool to support the quality of life you want to create, rather than a drain on it.
As I share in my Connection Course:
“My work is not what I do to survive; it is a way to support my unique lifestyle. To connect with my Career is to take responsibility for all my Connections, ensuring my daily effort is a unique extension of my being.”
Your work becomes a meaningful contribution the moment you decide it is an expression of your unique being, rather than a mere means of survival. Whether you are searching for a role, sustaining your path, navigating a change, or transitioning into retirement, the meaning is found in the intentionality you bring to the role.
The Rhythm of the Creator:
If you want to move from ‘Professional Survival’ to ‘Purposeful Contribution’, start mastering the rhythm of your own professional flow:
- Connect: Align with the reality of your current phase. Acknowledge your capacity to create value, whether you are picking strawberries, sitting in a boardroom or at the end of your career. Your breath and your presence belong to you, not the market or expectations of others.
- disConnect: Unplug from the ‘Identity Trap’, the internal pressure of status titles and the professional mask. disConnect from the idea that you are lazy when you protect the energy you need for your own Life Connections.
Everything is Connected. Your professional Life is the Connection that allows your Soul and Core to interact with the physical world without losing your true uniqueness.
