The Wheel

Lately I’m catching up on reading and listening to music. There have been so many beautiful words already been written. I think about it a lot; Do we still need to re-invent the wheel? Should we keep trying to improve it? Are my words adding any value to this globe? Since it feels it has/have been all said or written before. Even new reading material I come across I often find myself thinking “I’ve read that somewhere else already”, or  “hmm, wrote a similar piece”.

Is it important to write or say something unique? Or is it the person, what differentiates a similar piece of art? The intention someone express his/her thoughts, does that make it worthwhile reading and/or writing, even if it is a repetition?
Although I never have writers-block, since my brain-threads are always twirling and twisting, I am questioning the purpose of my own writing these days…

A wheel which has been written by someone else, and I copied the Dutch version in a post before, however -saddening as it is – I feel the need to post it again:

Artist: Guus Meeuwis – Song: Let me have that delusion

(Free translation, since I still struggle with some English words, I hope he doesn’t mind.)

I still think it’s possible

Everyone next to each other

Sometimes I dream about it

I’m not sure how to get there

Haven’t found the key

How it works, what it does

Unshakeable confidence

I believe it is possible

To build bridges

Sometimes I dream about it

Let me have that delusion

Let me have that delusion

Let me have that delusion

….

I see the shivers around me

Always that fear

It squeezes until it breaks

Maybe I’m a little naive

Or just unworldly

But I am so in love with it

There is so much beauty

In the small happiness

A greedy desire

Don’t break this desire

Let me have that delusion

Let me have that delusion

Let me have that delusion

…..

Unshakeable confidence

I believe it is possible

To build bridges

Sometimes I dream about it

Let me have that delusion

Let me have that delusion

Let me have that delusion

Inspire each other...

  1. I think you don´t need to come up with something new that has never been written before, because people need something to connect to and what could that be that hasn´t already been described? It´s like eating your favourite ice-cream or cake over and over again – you know there are other flavours but you come back to the one you know and love 😉 No one would say for example: “Why should I eat chocolate, I already had a piece five years ago!!!! 😉 And anyway, you write for yourself and that´s important!!! Repetition isn´t always a bad thing…

  2. Mooi. Al raak je maar een single mens in zijn hart. Is het de moeite waard! En alle positieve gedachten komen in de energiebaan.

  3. It’s the connection that counts and what unites us. Not ‘new’ thoughts. I completely feel the words of Miss Gentileschi above. We share words, we share feelings. How beautiful can it be. Keep on posting, writing, thinking, bringing a beautiful group of souls together ❤❤❤❤❤❤
