No matter our background, upbringing, current situation, gender, age or belief-system…we are all human beings. We all seek Connection for various reasons. Our main and natural purpose of Connecting is to survive. In order to gain food, shelter and other basic needs. However, when the basic needs are unavailable to us, regardless the cause, people are primarily driven by a “striving to find meaning in one’s life.” (Victor Frankl.)
Human beings thrive better amongst other living creatures, history taught us this. Unfortunately, history also taught us, there will always be those who would like to be superior to another. Striving to seek understanding for the individual within the community will lead to a stronger unity.
On this globe we all live upon, we have the opportunity to learn from each other’s different perspectives, from each other’s uniqueness. Reaching out to, Connect with, and acknowledge each other is nowadays easier than ever.
Besides sharing a smile with your neighbor, being friendly to the lady behind the counter, care for other living creatures; treating each other with respect in our daily encounters, we also have various opportunities through social media. Even with the masks we currently have to wear for each others safety 😉
We can approach social media as a distracting factor, even distance ourselves from it, or we can embrace it. It can be a way to learn from each other’s differences, a wonderful way to make real connections, friendships for life. A part of our modern society, where we should also treat each other with the respect each unique individual deserves.
Let’s acknowledge our diversity, embrace it, for the purpose of Connection.
Upcoming 7 weeks I will re-publish weekly a post regarding the topic Connection, a series I did run last year. It’s what my website is about: to inspire you to reflect on your Connections. With yourself, with your beloved ones, with our planet. After the seven posts, I hope you’ve strengthened some of your Connections and maybe even gained some.

…Stars glow bright,
spreading dust at night,
hope and faith start to grow,
therefore I feel, I know,
when souls do connect,
love can, no…will reflect,
the beauty inside us all,
and just one step, even small,
to reach out to each other,
will help our globe recover.

Whether you read all of the posts or just one: The main purpose is to inspire you, to start Connecting TODAY. The first post in this seven week series will be published May 20, 2020. Are you ready to Connect?

Looking forward to your series on connection Patty. We all have our part in bridging distances – one connection at a time.
Thank you for connecting again dear Deborah. And yes, absolutely agree 🙂

Yes, that’s what I was thinking too 🙂 Thanks for stopping by again and connect, dear Anuscka 🙂
For sure 🙂
Woop Woop 🙂
Great post. Whatever our beliefs are, one of the plus sides of Christmas is that it creates so many very real opportunities for connection – from Christmas cards and newsletters, to talking to people while we’re shopping for gifts, to meeting a multitude of people at work parties and so on … And that is a real benefit 🙂
Thanks for reading and connecting! Exactly, so many opportunities 🙂
