While writing the previous post, sharing my perspectives about Connecting to past, future and present, the choice of today’s Soul Music song came to mind…
Memories
Music can play a part in triggering a memory and also the other way around is possible. Or, an activity can remind you of a song, like it did for me in the above example. On so many occasions, music plays a big role to either celebrate, motivate, grieve, or remember.
Mostly, music will be a Connection to emotions; the reason why it is so effective in films and commercials. And also the reason why we like or don’t like a genre of music.
Whatever role music plays in your life, you have a choice how to deal with the emotions brought up. You might choose to leave the Connected memory in the past and remember that tomorrow a new day will begin…

Memory - Barbra Streisand
Lyrics
Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory?
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan
Mem’ry
All alone in the moonlight
I can dream of the old days
Life was beautiful then
I remember
The time I knew what happiness was
Let the mem’ry live again
Ev’ry streetlamp seems to beat
A fatalistic warning
Someone mutters and the street lamp sputters
And soon it will be morning
Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life
And I mustn’t give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin
Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale cold smell of morning
A streetlamp dies, another night is over
Another day is dawning
Touch me
It’s so easy to leave me
All alone with the mem’ry
Of my days in the sun
If you touch me
You’ll understand what happiness is
Look, a new day has begun.

Soul Connection
There are many ways to Boost Your Soul and music is a fantastic one. There are a variety of genres you can listen to, even Soul Music is a genre in itself. To me, music is also a way to Connect with your Soul. A tool to help you go through emotions and acknowledge them. Depending on your mood, there will be always a piece of art that goes along with it. What I love most about music is how it can Connect people.
