We talk a lot about ‘finding ourselves’ or ‘evolving’, but there is a hard truth we often skip over: You cannot architect a unique life if the ground beneath you is shaking.
Basic needs:
Historically, humans have focused on three core goals: Survival, Evolution, and Connection. You can’t focus on your ‘Big Why’ if you’re trapped in a cycle of basic survival-stress.
For our ancestors, survival started with fire; the literal warmth and light that allowed evolution to begin. In our modern world, we still need that ‘fire’, but today it also represents our internal focus and warmth. We cannot keep our internal fire burning if we allow the ‘Digital Noise’ and ‘Inherited Pressure’ to damp it out.
We are often in ‘survival mode’ not because we lack a roof, but because our mental and environmental safety is being breached by the world’s chaos.
The Rhythm of the Connection Architect:
To move from a frantic state of Doing back into a state of Being, let’s practice the natural rhythm of a human being human:
1. Connect: We align with what actually supports our unique foundation.
2. disConnect: We courageously unplug from the ‘misled urgency’ that drains us.
Everything is Connected. When you build a strong enough foundation, your personal evolution follows naturally. You start to see that even your choice of food or your digital boundaries are bricks in the house of your freedom.
Connection Scan:
I invite you to try a small “Space & Boundary” Scan today, to see where your foundation might have a leak:
- Identify: Look around your room or on your phone right now. Find one object or notification setting that just happened to you” by habit.
- Connect: Choose one small item that truly represents your uniqueness; a stone from a favorite beach, a photo, or even a specific ‘Quiet Hours’ setting. Move it to a prominent place.
- disConnect: Identify one piece of clutter or noise nearby that conflicts with that unique choice. Remove it. Imagine it’s gone.
- The Shift: Notice the difference. For a moment, your space didn’t ‘happen to you’. You created it.
Remember: Everything is Connected. Everything! At the same time, it is OK to choose to disConnect.
I would love to hear from you: What is one thing you are removing today to create space for your uniqueness?
In Connection,
Patty Wolters

Hmmm… I should remove my laptop now, then, and instead, grab the harp 😁
Good idea! (Had je die niet weg gedaan?)
Ja, maar: spijt van, dus later weer een ‘nieuwe’ tweedehandse gekocht, een kleintje. Blij mee!
