There is a specific kind of sensation that comes with a packet of seeds and a plan. Spring has begun over here in The Netherlands, the garden slowly starts to bloom, and the energy of new beginnings sparkles something inside me again…
The Selective Sower:
As Spring begins to stir, I find myself at my table, sorting through herbs and vegetables seeds. But I am not sowing everything. I am not filling every inch of soil in my vegetable garden just because the seeds are available.
As a 21st Century Global Humanist I am selective and intentional. This isn’t just gardening; it is a manifestation of how I live. It starts with Practical Self-Sustainability and the choice to live on-purpose. I only sow what I actually intend to cook, consume, and value.
My husband and I aren’t trying to live off-grid in a primitive sense; we embrace Wholeness over Perfection. We intend to start using more rainwater for the garden and combine time-tested methods with modern enhancements to ensure we aren’t just surviving. We are thriving by design.
A Conscious Presence
I leave dogmatic “rules” at the door and choose what works for our specific life. This is the work of a Conscious Human Being. In my garden, I honor the cycle of nature and aim to reduce my reliance on factory-produced systems that treat life as a mere commodity. At the same time, if a modern-day product can help me improve the way I tend to the garden, I will use it.
Respecting our nature as a species, being omnivores, I make sure to add vegetables and herbs alongside the slice of meat on my plate. Always choosing quality over convenience, because I know that what I put into my body defines the energy I bring to the world.
Being a 21st-century global humanist, I acknowledge that we didn’t evolve to regress into the past; I embrace Realism over Regression, moving forward as a species. The garden is my private sanctuary, but it is built with a global perspective. I see Wealth as a Tool; the resources we have are the building materials for a unique life and a meaningful contribution to the world.
When you sow only what you need, you stop tending to things that don’t feed you.
An Invitation to the Global Table
As much as I encourage people to be open-minded at my virtual home (and offline), sometimes I too would like to sit at a table with like-minded people, not having to defend my choice of lifestyle. Hence, I no longer wait for permission from those physically near me to create this life.
As a firm believer in the freedom of choice, it is why I choose Choice over Permission always, of course, within the regulations of the country I have chosen to live.
At my table, I also value Uniqueness over Masks. It doesn’t matter what your title or your resume says; what matters is your holistic perspective and your desire to be a Creator of Change.
If you are ready to bypass the extremist noise and focus on the intentional work of building better systems, I invite you to pull up a chair. I am preparing the soil for two specific seasons of growth:
- April 1 | The 7-Day Foundation: A free mini-course in which you will walk through the core pillars of the Global Table Manifesto and how to apply them to your daily life.
- June 1 | The Summer Course: A deeper, 31-day journey into intentional living. This session will open based on the interest shown by fellow 21st-century global humanists this Spring.
The seeds are selected. The plan is drawn. Are you ready to sow something that actually sustains you?
