Last year, 2022, I mentioned twice I planned to take you along our adventures regarding our forever home. Finally taking you on our journey, and I think it will become clear, why it took me so long to update you…
June 2022
The month I was so happy to be able to share the news about finding, and buying, our forever home. By that time, I already started packing up a lot of our belongings:


Beautiful Souls who have been visiting my virtual home for a long time know the amount of stuff we collected over the years. In addition, still sorting out belongings from deceased loved ones… You can imagine it was a busy period before the actual move.
August 2022

After months of sorting and packing up (and counting down), the day finally came we could sign the last paperwork regarding the purchase of our new home and large plot. In August 2022 we started to move all our belongings. Most of it, we did ourselves, one weekend we had a few extra hands for the really heavy stuff.
My husband cleaned out our previous house, together with our dogs I was busy in our new place.

September 2022
The pool was not a requirement on our list, however, absolutely a bonus I’m truly grateful for ; -) Unfortunately, we were so busy during that summer, we never took a swim. Unpacking wasn’t the only reason for that. We had to clear out space for the wood we brought with us from our previous house, open a hidden doorway for more easy access between the garage and the future-to-be workplace for my hubby and other time consuming tasks..
Although we knew we had bought an older house on a large plot and the previous owners did inform us about a minor issue before the sell… The first big rain-shower was the introduction to that minor issue:

At the end of the day
Dealing with disappointments and/or expectations not met, it can be hard to keep focusing on the positives. At the end of the day, we kept finding joy in this:


Or so we thought…

Spoiler alert: That leak was the start of many more surprises we had to deal with. In upcoming posts I will tell you all about it ; -)
