Time After Time – Soul Music

This morning, I watched a military plane fly over our house again. It is an eerie feeling, each time a war related machine crosses our airspace. A saddening notification, on the continent I live, a war is happening right now. Not that long ago, I heard a song perfectly describing my thoughts…

Communicaton

Last month, the Skilled Helpers Collaborative shared their perspectives on communication and I believe, music is also a great way to communicate. Expressing thoughts and feelings via words and melodies. Romain Axisa is an amazing guitar player with a unique voice. A Beautiful Soul, a true artist.

This is the text, he added to the description of the video:

“A few weeks ago this song came out of me. It was firstly inspired by what is happening in Gaza, a tribute for all the victims. But I think it’s also just about human destruction in its whole. Every innocent victim, every terrible mistake humans have made and keep making. This is what this song is about: when are we gonna stop making them? This is a one raw take of me singing it with my guitar at St Augustine Church in Brighton. Hope you enjoy it x .”

Even if his style is not to your taste, the lyrics are unfortunately a truth. And unfortunately still today, in 2024, a recurring theme. Time After Time. Will we ever learn, violence, war, is never the answer?

Time After Time - Romain Axisa

Lyrics

Can you all hear it play
The regretful sound of silence
Take this good old pain away
All we’ve learnt here was violence

Timer after time
We will bury our sins it’s all we’ve known
Crime after crime
Soon there’ll be nothing out here we’re calling home

Never too young to die
When the old don’t learn the lesson Many angels will fly
Is anyone home in heaven

Timer after time
We will bury our sins it’s all we’ve known
Crime after crime
Soon there’ll be nothing out here we’re calling home

Soul Connection

There are many ways to Boost Your Soul and music is a fantastic one. There are a variety of genres you can listen to, even Soul Music is a genre in itself. To me, music is also a way to Connect with your Soul. A tool to help you go through emotions and acknowledge them. Depending on your mood, there will be always a piece of art that goes along with it. What I love most about music is how it can Connect people.

Inspire each other...

  1. A heartfelt song Patty. His questioning is mine too. When are we gonna stop destroying – each other, and our planet? Because indeed: ‘Soon there’ll be nothing out here we’re calling home’…
