Sometimes it is good to remind yourself of the why you do what you do. Hence, I decided to re-publish this post again. Also, to give my new followers/readers insight to the why I do what I do š
Followers
WordPress.com reminded me last year, I’ve been blogging on their platform for nine years. Wow! That reminded me, I’ve been blogging over a decade, since I started creating on another platform first.
Looking at the numbers, I did gain over 1000 followers. The original following tribe increased rapidly, after I switched from writing in Dutch to English (2016). Some of you might think “well, still, 1000 plus is not a lot” and it’s true, I’ve could have gained a lot more followers. Forgetting to move my followers, after moving this website to a new domain, caused a serious decrease in the stats.
Quality over quantity
To be honest, I don’t care that much for those numbers. For me it has always been more about quality. Yes, my heart still jumps every time I get the notification another neighbor chose to start following my website. Numbers, however, are just that. The neighbors who actually respond and thus connect are far less. And that is OK, I do understand we can’t keep up with everyone and everything. I also do have to sleep, eat, grow and do all those other activities that make life interesting. Therefore, I can’t connect as much and with as many, I wish I could, either.
In addition, I am not stating I publish quality posts. That’s for you, the reader to decide. Due to the fact I always think carefully about what I create, write and publish and that thing called living, posting at a regular base is not always a choice I make. The SEO and marketing people will probably get a heart-attack, reading this š
Over a decade blogging and this is why...
For me, blogging is about reaching out to, and connecting with my neighbors in our virtual world. The friendships I gained during the last 13 years mean the world to me.
Most of all: I sincerely hope, by creating my virtual home many years ago and still sharing my perspectives, opinions, poetry, collaborations, etc. to inspire you to choose your personal life connections, to acknowledge beautiful souls and keep reaching out to them. To boost your soul by embracing all of you, positives and limitations.
Connect. To Life, To Others, To Yourself.
To build together with you, dear neighbors, the somewhereĀ alsoĀ here in our virtual homes, as part of our world... That big ball we all live upon.
Thank you Beautiful Souls for holding my hand.

The text that is my inspiration since I heard it as a young girl:
SomewhereĀ
Someday, somewhere
We’ll find a new way of living
We’ll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere…
There’s a place for us
Somewhere a place for us
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us
Somewhere…
There’s a time for us
Someday there’ll be a time for us
Time together with time to spare
Time to learn, time to care
Someday, somewhere
We’ll find a new way of living
We’ll find there’s a way of forgiving
Somewhere…
There’s a place for us
A time and place for us
Hold my hand and we’re halfway there
Hold my hand and I’ll take you there
Somehow…
Someday, somewhere…

I think blogging enables us to realize we are all human beings, no matter our social status, wealth or location and that allows us to connect, grow and appreciate what each of us has to offer in terms of wisdom for life itself. Keep on blogging!
Beautiful. Thank you for that. And for the encouragement. Hugs, XxX
